THE STORY

My life long journey with horses started when I was five years old on a lovely Dartmoor pony named Goldie. Over the years, I competed in Pony Club events, 3-Day Eventing, Dressage, and Hunter/Jumper shows.

I currently own four registered Hanoverians, two mares and their two sons, Remington, Gracie, Carlos (in spirit) and Freddie, as well as, two dogs, and a barn cat. Now, my focus is on the Spirit of the Horse.  I began to connect more deeply with my little herd, when I was introduced to Reiki.

I have always been interested in alternative health treatments, and in 2008 began learning about Reiki from a wonderful teacher in Guelph, Barbara McKell.

In 2010, I studied Reiki with William Rand in Glastonbury, UK and became a Reiki Master.  William Lee Rand, founder and president of The International Center for Reiki Training (ICRT), The Center for Reiki Research and The Reiki Membership Association

In 2011, I attended Seduction of Spirit, a Yoga Meditation Retreat, with Deepak Chopra in Whistler, British Columbia.

In 2012, I returned to Glastonbury, UK, and again trained with William Rand, becoming a Karuna Reiki Master.

In 2013, I began holding Full Moon Meditation Evenings, with all proceeds in support of Bethell House Hospice. As of December 2017, our group has raised over $10.000.

In February 2015,  I attended TTeam for Horses on the Big Island of Hawaii, studying with the founder, Linda Tellington Jones.  Linda Tellington-Jones is an internationally recognized animal behaviorist and equine expert. She has authored six books and produced numerous video programs. TTEAM horses demonstrate marked improvement in athletic skills and increased willingness and ability to perform. Not only does the horse benefit, but also a deeper rapport grows between horse and rider because of increased understanding and more effective communication.

In 2015, I studied with Raven Keyes, from New York City and received my Medical Reiki Master Certificate. Raven Keyes is a Reiki Master Teacher, Certified Hypnotherapist and Master Meditation Teacher. She was part of the original Complementary Alternative Medicine program at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital led by Dr. Mehmet Oz.

In 2015, I attained my Level One, Tibetan Planetary Singing Bowl practitioner training with Lisa Wilvert. Lisa is one of the very few Canadians to have trained internationally in Tibetan singing bowls with healing and planetary vibrations. Since 1999, Lisa has been practicing meditation under the guidance and teaching of a number Tibetan meditation masters and Western meditation teachers. She has had the opportunity to study and receive teachings in retreat in Canada, the United States, India and Nepal. As part of her personal practice, she is currently in the sixth year of a nine year meditation program in the Tibetan Buddhist monastic tradition.

Also in 2015, I trained with Paulette Evans from Ribbleton Attunement, at a Horse-led adventure in the Pyrenees, France. Here, we worked with the Meren horse, native to the area, connecting with their lovely, gentle energy.

In March 2016, I trained with Susie Dias, founder of East to West Yoga and Pilates  in Toronto, working towards my Yoga Exercise Specialist based on the Hatha Yoga practice. Susie has been studying yoga since 1984, both in India and North America. Susie is a certified and registered yoga teacher who has been teaching yoga since 1986.  Over the years she has taught new borns to 90 year olds and she continues to teach yoga and pilates classes and teacher training at her studio in Toronto. She shares her passion for movement and the body, mind, spirit connection with all of her heart.

In May 2016, I travelled to Ireland on a spiritual retreat under the loving guidance of Raven Keyes, David Maddy and  Regina Ni Dinn, visiting many ancient sacred sites, including the Hill of Tara, Loughcrew, Fourknocks, Carrowmore Tombs,  The Burren and the Grange stone circle.

In August 2016, I attended a magnificent horse retreat with Paulette Evans, in Provence, France and worked with the amazing Frederic Pignon and Magali Delgado. With their gentle and wise assistance I delved deeper into my relationship with horses. Frédéric and Magali were the founders of Cavalia, along with Normand Latourelle, which toured the United States and European capitals from 2004 to 2009 playing to more than two million spectators.

In November, 2016, I began my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training with Michelle Cormack of 5 Elements Yoga Studio.  Michelle has trained extensively with top Yoga Instructors, including Shiva Rea and Rod Stryker.  I completed my Yoga Teacher Training in May 2017, and I am now a certified Yoga Teacher with the Canadian Yoga Alliance. My interests lie with Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga and Meditation.

In May 2017, I travelled to the South of France with Anouk Sophia and once again with David Maddy following in the footsteps of Mary Magdalene.  Anouk is  both a student and scholar of the timeless Divine Feminine Wisdom, the ever flowing chalice, wellspring of mother's milk, nurturing her endless creative spark.  As well, Anouk Sophia holds a full Diploma in Voice and Sound Therapy with the British Academy of Sound Therapy.
